Comparisons with 比 (bǐ)
A 比 comparison is A + 比 + B + Adjective: 今天比昨天热 "Today is hotter than yesterday". Do not put 很 or 非常 before the adjective; to say "much more" add 多了 or 得多 after it, and "a little more" with 一点儿. The negative is A 没有 B (那么) Adjective.

常见错误Common mistakes

✗他比我很高。
✓他比我高。 / 他比我高多了。
很 and 非常 are not used in 比 comparisons; use 多了 or 得多 for "much".

✗今天不比昨天冷。
✓今天没有昨天冷。
To say "not as cold", use 没有; 不比 means "not colder than" and is a different, rarer statement.

✗他比我两岁大。
✓他比我大两岁。
The amount of difference comes after the adjective.
