越来越 (yuèláiyuè) and 越 A 越 B: "more and more"

越来越 + Adjective/Mental Verb means "more and more …" over time: 天气越来越冷了 "The weather is getting colder and colder". 越 A 越 B means "the more A, the more B": 雨越下越大 "The more it rains, the heavier it gets". Because 越 already expresses degree, do not add 很, 太 or 非常 before the adjective.
