用法How to use 挺
挺 is most commonly an adverb meaning “quite; rather,” used before adjectives (and some verbs), often with 的 at the end: 挺好的, 挺冷的. As a verb it can mean to straighten or stick out (挺直, 挺起) or to hold out/endure (挺住). The measure-word use for machine guns (一挺机枪) is a specialized military sense, not the usual HSK meaning.
