用法How to use 省
省 has two common readings. As shěng, it can be a noun meaning "province" or a verb meaning "to save/economize" (as in 省钱, 省时间, 省电); the verb usually takes the thing saved as its object. The bound reading xǐng appears in formal words such as 反省 "reflect on oneself" and 省亲 "visit one's parents or elders."
