用法How to use 节
节 (jié) is a measure word for a segment of a class or of a train (两节课, 三节车厢) and a noun meaning 'festival' or 'solar term' (节日, 春节, 节气). It is not used alone as a verb; it occurs in compounds such as 节约 and 节省 'to economize'. The colloquial reading jiē appears mainly in 节骨眼儿 'the critical moment'.
