用法How to use 这个
这个 is the demonstrative "this" with the general classifier 个; it can modify a noun (这个菜) or stand alone (这个多少钱?). When a noun has its own classifier, standard Chinese usually uses 这 plus that classifier, for example 这本书 rather than 这个书.

这 is the bare demonstrative; before a noun it usually takes a classifier, especially in standard/beginner usage (这本书, 这个人), while 这个 contains 个 and can stand alone as a pronoun. Some colloquial expressions allow 这 directly before a noun, such as 这人 and 这事.
