用法How to use 酒
酒 (jiǔ) is any alcoholic drink — rice wine, beer, wine, spirits. It is a noun, so it is 'drunk' with 喝 (喝酒, 喝了一杯酒) and counted with containers like 瓶 and 杯 (一瓶酒, 两杯酒). Types are named by putting a modifier first: 白酒, 红酒, 啤酒.
